Student evaluation of teaching
Every semester, all classes take an anonymous teaching evaluation survey. As an accredited Japanese language institution, this is how we check the quality of our teaching against our students' own assessment and carry it into the next semester.

How the survey is run
Every class
At the end of each semester, covering every class and every teacher.
Anonymous, in the student's own language
No names are written. Questions and options are provided in five languages.
Every response is read
Comments written in languages other than Japanese are all translated and reviewed.
Into the next semester
Results are returned to each teacher in a one-to-one meeting, where strengths and issues are reviewed together and carried into the next semester.
Only school-wide totals are published. Results for individual teachers and classes are used internally to improve teaching.
