Every course targets CEFR level B2. The JCL preparatory school (shingaku juku) is not an accredited course and is not included above.

Objectives, content, teaching methods and materials for every subject are set out by program and level on the page above.

Total fees cover the whole course and include the application fee, admission fee, tuition, facility and equipment fees, teaching materials, insurance and health management. See the application guidelines for the breakdown and payment schedule. Student housing is not included.

Enrolment figures are updated periodically.

Effective 1 October 2026.

Self-inspection and evaluation is carried out each year around May and June by a committee chaired by the founder's representative, and the results are published on this page around June. Eight areas are assessed: achievement of aims and objectives; organisation and management of teachers and staff; facilities and equipment; design and delivery of the curriculum; graduation certification and learning outcomes; academic and everyday support for students; mechanisms for continuous improvement; and finance. No third-party evaluation is conducted.

JCL becomes an accredited institution on 1 October 2026, so the first self-inspection under the Accreditation Act will be carried out around May–June 2027 and published here. Self-inspection under the Ministry of Justice notification standards is already published below.

Results of the anonymous teaching evaluation survey taken by every class each semester. Separate from the self-inspection required by the Accreditation Act, it is published as the mechanism by which teaching quality is checked against the students' own assessment.

JCL is also an institution listed under the Ministry of Justice notification (kokuji). The following documents are published under those standards, which are separate from the Accreditation Act disclosures above.
